"My name is Boris Borisov. I grew up in Veliki Preslav, a small Bulgarian town located in one of the best grape-growing regions in Eastern Europe. As long as I can remember, I have been involved in two things - growing grapes and photographing life. As a child, I was either with my grandfather in the vineyards, or helping my father in the dark room.

For my 10th birthday, my parents gave me the most memorable present of my life, a small Russian camera, Smiana 8. In the following year, I won my first photography award in an interschool competition, and I became a photographer for the school newspaper. Later, while studying agriculture, I also photographed for the Plovdiv University newspaper. I was also a member of the university’s rock climbing club and ample opportunity to backpack in high mountains and photograph nature.

Now at 40, I continue doing the same. I manage a 200 acre vineyard and nursery operation near Woodland, California. In my spare time I enjoy photographing people, weddings, and family reunions. My favorite subject remains Mother Nature, and I always try to find time to explore the mountains, the desert or the coast. I take intensive classes in the New York Institute of Photography and I’m a freelance contributor for “Daleche” a Bulgarian Travel Magazine. My photographs are in private collections in Europe, Russia and the USA."
