Description: Established in 1985. Both employees at Heritage were trained professionally in Europe. We offer antique restoration servicing for Washington's homes and institutions. Specializing in 18th and 19th century structures and antique restorations and conservation.
I began my career as a restorers of English Antiques in Monterrey, CA. Dedicated to the artistic integrity of his craft, Stephen traveled to Paris, France where he studied under the international Known restorer, Francois Germond. Formally from the House of Jansen. While in Paris, Steven learned the old world techniques that have been handed down among furniture craftsman for centuries. Waxes and polishes are individually blended according to original formulas. Repairs, rebuilding and joinery are performed in the tradition of the old masters.
At the end of his tenure with Germond, Steven came to Washington, D.C. where he worked as a restorer for the firm of Secrest & Lavita. In 1985, he founded his own company, Heritage Restorations. Since then, Steven has developed a following among private collector and dealers and government institutions, of fine antique furniture throughout the Washington, D.C. area. |
