In the spring of 1981, Grant Spivey began a lawn maintenance company named Spivey Landscaping. In 1982, Spivey Landscaping installed their first irrigation system. By 1983, Spivey Landscaping was installing 8 to 10 irrigation systems a year. In 1984, the company stopped offering general lawn maintenance and focused on irrigation systems and landscaping. By 1996, 80% of the business was irrigation. In 1997 the name was changed to Sanford Irrigation. In 2002, the name changed again to the present Sanford Turf & Irrigation. Daniel Baker began working part-time with Grant while attending college. He learned the ropes of the business and purchased the company in July, 2007. With his new bride Morgan by his side, Daniel continues to grow the business and focus on quality work at a modest price.
